Resonate Tissue
Resonate Tissue is an ongoing series that grapples with the saturation of shallow commercial phrases and catchy lyrics that greet us each morning—words engineered to trigger instant emotional responses yet often slip away without deeper consideration.
Each morning, the artist extracts these textual fragments from their original melodies and liberates them from their commercial or pop-cultural confines, allowing them to resonate within an unfamiliar visual framework. Some lyrics may conjure personal memories or cultural echoes, while lesser-known fragments take on fresh significance—meeting the viewer on their own interpretive ground.
The creative process moves from intangible signals to physical artifacts. The artist’s initial hand-drawn sketches—made on a self-programmed 1080×1080 digital canvas—are meticulously replicated via a plotting machine guided by servos, ink, and code. This repetitive act of carving the same statements over and over underscores the artificial replication and highlights how messages can embed themselves in our consciousness. With each plotted mark, these iconic words gain an almost sculptural permanence—encouraging us to question how language might still possess (or reclaim) power when recontextualized.
At its core, «Resonate Tissue» acts as a meditation on how invisible waves—be they sound frequencies or fleeting thoughts—manifest into tangible surfaces, revealing a complex relationship between technology, embodiment, and the creative impulse. The series ultimately challenges the boundary between human and artificial authorship. While the content may originate from mass culture, the act of reclaiming it by machine reveals the tension between genuine artistic intervention and automated repetition.
